ARTWORK > Dragging Feet

This work exists as an installation of still images and as a video. The series of photographs frames pairs of feet dragging across the floor slowly and strenuously, capturing a movement forward that denies itself through apprehension.

The video layers several recordings of the feet dragging. Multiple layers gradually enter the frame at various levels of clarity, hesitantly making their way out of the camera's view. The squeaking sound of skin pulling across the floor is punctuated by heavy thumps as the foot lands and waits for the other side to pull one step further.
